How to Be extra info.
Published Wednesday, February 25, 2009 by le steph in how to beYep, since I've confirmed it, we are beginning to work out the kinks.
I thoroughly enjoyed the title to Morgan's post, "How to get to How To Be". It's awesome (:
It's great that you workeed out the time too, though I highly doubt it will take 43 minutes altogether, not giving traffic , of course. Saturday Nights in Sydney are damn hard, trust me. Walking from Central Station to the Ent Cent was hard enough...It doesn't help that I was wearing the wrong shoes and got everyone lost... *sweatdrop*
A couple of issues have arisen.
1. Transport.
2. ID.
3. Food.
4. Money...how to get/ what to use on. Well...maybe I have a problem... (Have worked out supposed Travel Cost to $6.20 concession).
To begin, FOOD. Morg, you said we can eat at Railway Square, but I'm pretty sure nothing good'll be there. Let's go to Chinatown, we stop there anyway. Lol. We could even catch a tram. I don't have a clue. The only thing there is a hostel, AFAIK. No Chance in Hell that I'm going there. Whatever.
I was just peeking around before, since I saw that How to Be was bein screened at the University Hall, not the "IST" Building or whatever Morg thought. I looked up the University Hall, for directions or something, and found some info on it,straight off their site.
"University Hall has
won an "Excellence in Construction Award" presented jointly by the Master Builder's Association of New South Wales and the Daily
Telegraph Mirror, plus a Merit Award for an Architectural Work of Outstanding Merit.
This Award-Winning venue has seating for 436 and space for 8 wheelchairs. The remain
der of this building is currently under renovations and will be available for hire from March 2006 onwards.
There are also a number of breakout rooms nearby catering from 30
to 330 people.
The presentation facilities in the theatre are "state-of-the-art". The audiovisual equipment, projection screens and room lighting are all selected and
controlled from a touch screen on the lectern, as is the video, internet and document visualiser. Additional facilities can be quoted and provided upon request."

Yeah, sounds good, eh? I have a picture too, but it's easier to link to the site. It looks excellent, in my humble opinion. I am damn excited.
Next, ID. I'm fine. I have a passport and my School ID card. I'll take both, just in case, though I'm quite sure I look pretty old...
Um, we've gotten suggestions about Proof of Identity from the RTA or something, I'm looking it up now, and they say for anything they (RTA) need, you can use your Driver's License or NSW Photo Card. I'm still confused...
Ooh, just found something. Copy and Paste. Re: Point of Identity documents.
"An RTA-issued NSW Proof of Age (POA) card showing a card number and not reported as lost, stolen or destroyed.
Note: An RTA-issued Proof of Age (POA) card is not acceptable as a proof of age document from 14 December, 2008, based on liquor legislation. They are also not acceptable as Proof of Identity (POI) documents at the same time."Dang, so we can't get one of those now.
The other thing closely related to that is the NSW Photo Card. The Proof of Age card system expired on the 13th of December, 2008, therefore, we can't get one. To be eligible;;
"To be eligible for a Photo Card you must:
- Be a NSW resident.
- Be aged 16 years and over.
- Not hold a current driver licence or Proof of Age Card (if you do you will need to surrender your driver licence or Proof of Age Card when you apply for your Photo Card).
- Meet the RTA's standard proof of identity criteria"
END.
